Go Dutch!
anyone else watching the european championships?
anyone interested in soccer needs to be watching ESPN2 right now, Czech v. Portugal, two teams who had impressive wins already.

Some of big events. I enjoy things like Euro, and the World Cup. I am still learning more about the game. I like country vs. country stuff. I don't follow Manchester U, or Barcelona and etc like that though. Definitely not the MLS either. The US may become competitive in 10 years or so as soccer continues to grow, but Europes best athletes are generally soccer players, and sometimes basketball now. Soccer isn't a draw for our best athletes because the money isn't there, and neither is the exposure. Football, basketball, and baseball will all draw the better athletes in the US, therefore limiting the US's potential.

i follow a lil bit of the EPL, esp the playoffs.
the MLS is nasty to watch if you're used to watching the international competitions, its not as fluid and smooth as the europeans play.
Americans if they could get their talent level up, could make as much or more money playing overseas soccer compared to football or basketball.

Spain looked good as well.
And I am in Austria, the host country. Word from the director of my study abroad program is that Sunday when Austria lost to Croatia 1 to 0 that the polizei arrested 150 people the Austrians were so upset.
Sweden played Greece here in Salzburg a few nights ago. The Swedish fans are a rowdy ass bunch of people. Try sitting on Salzburg's transit with drunk Swedish fans. They were nice yet very awkward and loud. We saw some rowdy Turkish fans downtown. They even have big screen televisions in downtown Salzburg. The professors do not recommend us downtown if Salzburg is hosting a game. The fans are very rowdy.
But Germany, I hope kicks major butt against the Czechs at 18:00 tonight. I am pulling for the Germans this summer.
